CITY ST REALTY was founded in 1991 by Norman Schneiderman, broker. Prior to then, the brokerage had been operating under the name Norman Engelberg–Schneiderman (“The Biggest Name in Real Estate”, I would tell people), established in 1988. The namesake approach had worked for Pat King Real Estate, a well known brokerage in metro for many years, and I had hopes that Norman Engelberg-Schneiderman, Real Estate Broker would also become well known, but no agents would come to me because my name was too long! When Garth Hancock came on board in 1991, we came up with the CITY ST REALTY name and logo. Early in the new century CITY ST REALTY began a period of steady growth and today we provide a home for a number of independent minded professional salespeople.

We are an independently owned and operated real estate brokerage offering top quality professional service. Our agents specialize in the many facets of the real estate business, ranging from commercial, rural, new construction, and of course residential transactions. We offer service throughout Metro Halifax as well as province–wide.

CITY ST REALTY salespeople are all independent, self–employed contractors. This means that all incoming calls on a listing are directed to the salesperson most familiar with the property — the listing agent. For the seller, this means that the salesperson talking about your property to prospective buyers is the one you hired, not a duty salesperson who has never seen your property. The only phone number on your “For Sale” sign is that of your listing salesperson. And as a prospective buyer, you are dealing with the expert on the property for sale.
